With kids across the country heading back to school, it may be tough to start thinking about Spring Break; although, we know you’re already planning ahead. Now that Southwest’s schedule has been extended through April 7, 2019, it’s time to get a head start on those plans! Grab some sunscreen (and your passport!) and let’s dig into some of the exciting changes next spring.

Although it’s one of the newer international gateways, it’s clear that St. Louis Customers love our flights to Cancún. We’re thrilled to announce that we‘re making it even easier for them to collect additional passport stamps with new seasonal Saturday nonstops to both Montego Bay and Punta Cana (both routes subject to government approvals). These two new destinations will join our existing year-round service to Cancún.

Speaking of Cancún, Milwaukee will once again see nonstop service on Saturdays to Cancún after a brief hiatus. Pittsburgh, Raleigh, and San Antonio will also see the return of their seasonal Saturday service to Cancún.

Having grown up in the Midwest, I can personally attest to the amount of vacations taken in March to try and thaw out after a brutally cold winter. Southwest is responding to this demand with some great additions to warmer destinations.

Saturdays in March will be busier in the Buckeye State, where Cincinnati (yes, I do realize the airport is technically in Kentucky!) will be linked nonstop with Orlando. This new service is in addition to the seasonal return of Cincinnati-Phoenix nonstops. If skiing is your thing, don’t forget we just started daily Cincinnati-Denver nonstop service earlier this month. Meanwhile, in Cleveland, Customers will enjoy new seasonal Saturday nonstop service to Tampa Bay. We are also planning seasonal increases to several Florida cities from Chicago Midway, Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and St. Louis.

And don’t think we’ve forgotten about our home state of Texas—you will see a few new and returning markets in this schedule too. Dallas Customers will have a tough time choosing between beaches on the Gulf Coast and those on the Atlantic with Sunday only nonstops to both Harlingen and West Palm Beach. West Texas residents will also have an easier time getting to their favorite Southwest Spring Break destinations around the country with returning Sunday nonstop service from Lubbock to Houston Hobby.

As always, this schedule contains several other capacity tweaks, which can be found below. Have a great Labor Day weekend … if you have any questions, just leave us a comment!
