Shark Week 2024
The feeding frenzy continues as Southwest is once again partnering with “Shark Week,” bringing jaw-some content to the sky. Be sure to tune in to our beloved, “Shark Week” On Demand TV series onboard the Inflight Entertainment Portal, which features free “Shark Week” episodes for Customers to sink their teeth into, including a never-been-seen-before episode of “Sharktopia,” before it airs during Shark Week.
Citizenship Channel On Demand TV Series
This month, the Citizenship On Demand TV series features two new videos that highlight how we’re continuing to support the community with Heart.
- Transforming Lives Through Upcycling: Repurpose with Purpose is Southwest Airlines award-winning signature program that gives back to communities all over the world, helping Southwest show its Heart for the Planet. Recently, Southwest welcomed Wearsos as a Repurpose with Purpose partner. Wearsos is dedicated to transforming lives through upcycling and providing employment opportunities for marginalized individuals, while also championing women empowerment and creating impact within communities in Costa Rica. Using donated aircraft seat leather from Southwest, the Wearsos Do Good Collection of bags and accessories is handcrafted by artisans in the heart of Turrialba, Costa Rica.
- A Final Salute: Southwest Airlines has a decades-long history of supporting our military and the families of those in the service. Earlier this year, the son of one of our Southwest Families was lost in a tragic Marine Corps helicopter crash, along with four other Marines. With the focus on the military and supporting each other, our People jumped right in to make things happen so we could all deliver a final salute to Marine Sgt. Alec Langen inside one of our hangars, a place he had hoped to work after serving in the Marines.

Southwest Celebrates Disability Pride Month
Disability Pride Month is an opportunity to honor the history, achievements, experiences, and struggles of the disability community. July also marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on disability. We’re celebrating Disability Pride Month with these fan-favorites picked by Southwest’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team and Able@SWA Employee Resource Group.
