1st time son's boarding pass isn't TSA precheck, but has MAC by the RR. What does that mean?

TSA Pre check is random no one is guaranteed Pre check that includes those who have paid the fee for the 5 years like myself and I have had 1 time since paying the fee where I had to go through the regular security line.  

in reguards to MAC on the boarding pass I am not sure. Maybe @LindseyD can explain that as I have never seen or heard of that.

If you can take a photo of the boarding pass and send it to me in a private message, I'll take a look at the "MAC" and get some information for you. Without seeing it, I can't quite be sure.
