We got rid of the car kept nearby and thus have started flying different airlines to different airports. Best of luck!

My last return trip to BWI with checked baggage in late August was an improved experience.
Not great but definitely reasonable. At the time, I was basically thrilled it took such a "short" time for my bags to arrive, around 30 minutes.
