We plan on bringing a car seat onboard for our 2 year old when we fly this year. I have a list of acceptable FAA approved car seats, but I’m concerned about them fitting in the seats. Can the arm rests be put up to fit a car seat, or is that now permitted? We have never flown with our child before and want to make sure we will be able to use a car seat for safety purposes. We are considering the Safety 1st Guide 65 convertible car seat.

Solution
If you remove the cup holder on the side (which I believe is removable), this seat should measure 16" or less in width and should fit SWA seats without the arm rest needing to be raised.
Safe travels!
