Diversity & Inclusion has always been important to the Heart of Southwest. We champion an inclusive Culture valuing the unique perspectives of all.
We’re proud that 82 percent of Employees who took our 2016 Employee survey reported that Southwest created an environment where People of diverse backgrounds can succeed. To continue to grow our understanding, we participate in International Women’s Day, with conversation and learning opportunities at our Dallas Headquarters. We also hold Power of Inclusion Lunch-N-Learn events for Employees almost every month.

At Southwest, we repurpose a variety of materials and items. Through our collaborative efforts with diverse community organizations around the country, we work to repurpose leather seat covers and clothing, as well as other items like blankets, life vests, and even aircraft engines and parts. By extending the lifecycle of these items, we can reduce landfill waste, while also providing social and economic impact opportunities in our communities.
