We have five nonstops a day between Salt Lake City and Los Angeles, so one of those should work for her connection. There is a shuttle bus that runs between the Southwest Terminal (Terminal One) and the Bradley International Terminal. If she doesn't have a lot of baggage, it's also possible to walk between the terminals, but the shuttle bus will be quicker. Here is the page from the airport's web site: http://www.lawa.org/lax/hotelShuttles.cfm

I just wanted to let everyone know that we did check on Phillip's reservation and the problem was that he wasn't age-verified for the Senior Fare. We conntacted him and are working on his verification.

Hi Tim
Your funds are good for travel for up to a year from their purchase date. The next time you make a reservation, when the web site asks for form of payment, you have the option of using funds from a previous reservation. If you book over the phone, just tell the Reservations Sales Agent that you want to use exchange funds. Keep your confirmation number from the old reservation handy because it will speed up the process. It is very easy.

The USS Nimitz set sail from San Diego yesterday, and Francisco Delgado sent me this e-mail and link that I wanted to share with everybody. I know he is reading the blog, and would LUV to hear from everyone.
Hello. We already made it on the news.... We left San Diego without a hitch. Thanks for your prayers and your support I look forward to seeing you guys in the fall.
Francisco
Stay safe USS Blog Boy, and we are counting the days until your safe return. (If you want to follow the news about the Nimitz, please check the link in our Link LUV section.)

as you can see, we made it safely through the night. Severe weather and tornado watches are a way of life if you live in this part of the country, but we appreciate your kind thoughts. And, we need the rain!

Stefani,
Your grandfather is a true American hero! All of our service men who faced combat in World War II faced arduous times that none of us who follow can truly understand, but your grandfather and the other Tuskegee Airmen faced another trial just because of the color of their skin!
We owe them so much!

Without Charles Schultz, the world is much poorer and drearier. Peanuts is still the first thing I read in the Sunday paper. My favorites are his strips from the early sixties. It's amazing the beauty of thought that can come from a pen and paper. Before I became Blog Boy my office nickname was Charlie Brown. Good Grief,

Our apologies for that. When we changed publishers of Spirit Magazine, we lost our procedure to get the articles on southwest.com. We will be updating the site very soon, and we have a new procedure in place.

That would be great to see the Academia Waltz book. However, in Jeramy's defense--not that he needs it. While Berkeley Breathed is a well-known literatry figure, USC can claim George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.

I so miss Calvin and Hobbes, and I have a lot of the books. That strip, Bloom County, and Doonesbury are my alltime favorites. Of course, Doonesbury is still active, and Opus appears on Sundays, but I used to laugh outloud at Calvin and his adventures with Hobbes.

Hi Jeff,
I was the one who wrote that article, and it was for Airways magazine. I think you are confused by autopilot and autoland. Autopilots have been on every major airliner since 1945, but autoland is on some widebodied aircraft and the Airbus narrowbodies. Autoland essentially flies the aircraft completely, whereas an autopilot is actually controlled by the Pilots. My article mentioned that Southwest doesn't use the autothrottle feature of the 737-700. Captain Evans can provide you with more information about that. Even without autoland, our HGS-equipped aircraft can operate as Captain Evans mentioned in the same Category IIIA conditions as an autloand aircraft, the difference is that our Pilots fly the aircraft instead of the computer. For more information on HGS, please see this post by Captain Stark.

I'm suprised that Irish-Oregonian Erin hasn't weighed in on this. One of the oldest botanical celebrations is the Rose Festival every June in Portland. One of the events is the judging of the rose varieties which is held in the Rose Test garden of Washington Park.

Yes, we are extremely safe. Safety is our most important duty. For more information, please read Captain Stark's post and comments on his "Landings" post from a couple of weeks ago. Dear External Blog Boy,
You are showing your lack of Texas roots. Dr Pepper had a period after the Dr. up until the 60s. When I learned to drink it, the bottles said Dr. Pepper. I haven't been to the museum in Waco but once. However, we make the pilgrimage to Dublin (Texas nor Ireland, Erin) at least three times a year because they still make Dr Pepper with real sugar and are the world's oldest Dr Pepper bottler. I have had hot lemon Dr Pepper, and I have also had Dr Pepper in the UK.

Oh USS Blog Boy,
why did you have to mention "The Snap"? A dark night in Cowboy's history!
And Kim, EBB, I can't tell you how disappointed I am with you. A man who espouses Texas and all it's virtues, and you drink a soft drink from GEORG
IA???? Although USS Blog Boy and I are native New Mexicans, my parents are proud Texans, and my mom's grandfather first fed me the official drink of Texas, Dr. Pepper back when the idea of a computer was only a gleam in the eyes of those working at IBM.

The ultimate book for your group would be a eco/medico/snack food/romance novel. Let's call it Crimson's Anatomy--Episode Six, The Jedi Doctor. A handsome young doctor, Cliff Granite, attends to an beautiful economist, Mony Golightly, who is from the freakonomics school. She is presenting shinsplints, boils, and bunyons. Dr. Granite discovers the healing powers of candy corn, Miss Golightly falls in love with him, and they both honeymoon on the SS Minow, all the while drinking mimosas and munching on toasted candy corn and caviar.

Hey "not posted" before you get so critical, try reading correctly. Captain Evans didn't say his son was riding the Vespa in Colorado. Go back and read what he wrote. He said his son was riding his Vespa in Central Texas a few hours after flying home from Colorado.
Methinks the astroturf is in front of your glasses.
