On July 23, 2017, my life changed. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would read my Ancestry DNA test to discover I had a family member I didn’t know about—I found myself looking at a photo of a woman who looks just like me.
I was in total shock and decided to write to this woman to figure out how we are related. After finding her on Facebook and looking through her pictures, my mouth dropped. I sent a screenshot of her picture to my siblings, and we all agreed that she had to be our sister.
After communicating with my long-lost sister for a few months, I finally decided to meet her in person. On September 15th, Southwest played a special role in this story. I flew to Atlanta to meet my little sister for the first time ever. Not only was it a joy to meet her, but we quickly realized we dressed alike! The next day, we dressed alike too; we really nailed the sister telepathy early on. As we got to know each other, I found that we shared many similar qualities—besides style, of course.
I have only flown four times in my 46 years of life, and every time I’ve flown with Southwest Airlines. It’s safe to say Southwest and I are now bonded, as I will continue to use their services when I visit my sister.
Thanks for assisting in my reunion!
