Bravo Southwest... this is why i fly you even if your fares are not always the lowest. you treat us with respect, no hidden costs, astronomical change fees (if any at all). you are not in our wallet every time we turn around and i appreciate that more and more as i deal with other carriers. i also appreciate the fact that when i want to use my frequent flier mileage i can ACTUALLY us it. unlike other airlines, CONTINENTAL, where they have such limited access to mileage seats that it is virtually impossible to use them.
after a rather unpleasant experience with CONTINENTAL AIRLINES, trying to use a $2000. credit I became aware that the $400. penalty would have to be paid for by credit card and in addition to the money in credit that they ALREADY HAD (and this was just the beginning of the hassles i had in simply booking a ticket with my credit). I gave them a piece of my mind that included the above reference to how SPIRIT does business. i also compared them to what our government's way of doing business... without getting political here, i am referencing the hidden taxes, fees and creative (sleazy?) new ways to take our money a little at a time. this WILL hurt these other airlines in the long run. goodwill with customers is the number one value for a company and i am SOUTHWEST, understands and honors that. and with that said, i must share that i have never seen a more miserable group of people than the employees of CONTINENTAL, it leads me to believe that their poor treatment of their passengers is also a mirror of what goes on inside the company.
thank you SOUTHWEST for your keen insight, going against the tide, and staying true to yourself and to US.
a loyal and happy customer,
AKMARTIN
