That was a great listen Mr. Steve Heaser! I enjoyed hearing the message left by the grateful customer. That was a perfect example of the immeasurable impact that proactive customer service can have on the flying public. Ms. Teresa Laraba, you touched on this in your interview with Clayton Reid for Brands That Travel. You mentioned that your pet peeve when you travel is that when employees do not offer assistance to customers, but instead wait to be asked for help. I can relate this to my current work experience in a hospital environment where failure to anticipate the needs of customers can oftentimes lead to serious medical events. To help with this, we are trained to always keep our customers informed and involved. Without a doubt, Southwest Airlines employees are communicating effectively with customers and it shows.
Kudos to the SWA Team!

I stopped by the Southwest ticket counter at ORF yesterday. I spoke with CSA Ms. Janice who was so kind and helpful to me. First of all, I had to say congratulations because it was just announced in the local paper this week that SWA is the NUMBER ONE carrier at ORF for the calendar year, and they are expected to hold the lead through the end of the year. Well, I wanted my inquiry to be short and sweet because I didn't want to hold up the line of customers. I explained to her that I visited Southwest.com and saw that there were openings for Part-Time CSA positions. I told her that I submitted my resume online and asked if she knew of any upcoming recruitment events or group interview sessions. She said she didn't and that the manager was currently unavailable because he was in a meeting. However, Ms. Janice was so nice to provide me with the manager's name and direct number. I know this is one of the busiest weeks for the entire airline industry, so I told her that maybe I should try next week. However, she suggested that I could probably come by on Wednesday (tomorrow). So now I will give the manager a call and set up a time that is convenient for him to personally receive my resume. I just wanted to share my experience with you all. I have to say that I was a bit nervous, but it was such a relief to be greeted with so much warmth at the SWA counter.
I'll keep you guys posted!
Thanks,
Salvador

Leah, thanks for the reply! I really appreciate the insight you gave about your own personal experience with attempting to land, or rather, TAKE OFF with a career at SWA! I hope that your determination will pay off. I will definitely keep checking the Careers section of the website to see when a recruitment event will take place in my city. Thanks again!
