Southwest will come in with lower fares and Hawaiian and others will have to match them. I predict intro $99.00 one way fares (you heard it here first ). But when the dust settles...SW will probably end up having the same airfares to the mainland as all the others. And that goes for inter-island as well. And Hawaii has never had assigned seating on inter-island flights until Hawaiian Airlines became a monopoly. So Hawaiians are very use to the concept. What "will" make Southwest very popular here is their policy of no change or baggage fees. Will the other airlines match those policies? I don't think so.
