Not true. The vast majority of people use the travel funds they get when cancelling a ticket. How? They buy another ticket. So the airline does provide a service.   Jack Like i Said there's a number of people that will cancel. so they do keep the money. They give a discount and if people cancel the trip bye bye money. I bought a TICKET, I did not use the ticket, i should be able to return the ticket and get my money back. Like Wall Mart. you by a tv, it doesn't work you take it back they give you your money back. southwest is no better than Wall Mart. That's how Business get customers to go back. for them to keep a 15% for using a person to hit a few clicks on a keyboard and put the money on to my card  i'm all for that. To Penalize me because of a pandemic?? C'mon Jack.  It is not southwest's fault ok i agree. But it is not my Fault Either. why am i losing my money. Yes the rules should apply and everyone should get their money back. (Nonrefundable) is not the right term here. Stealing Is The right term. Again for them to keep a 10% or 15% of my money i can see that. but to keep all my money? Why.Why. You Probably went to college and got an education. can you explain that to me.They made up the <<contract>> to their favor.They use a word (non refundable) to keep money from people. Jack! People Have priorities, every day.i'm sure you do to, and all the executives at southwest. So Did I. My Goal was to  buy a ticket and go on vacation. No i did not see the button when i bought the ticket. i was to exited that i was getting on a plane to go to seattle and get on a cruise ship. i was thinking of all the fun stuff. BUT southwest said :Let's give them some kind of a discount  on the ticket to get them in ( Cause cheap stuff do draw people) Certain percentage of travelers will cancel and if they cancel we keep the money HaHaHa!! and they pat themselves in the back. they have the plains i wanna get there fast. i have no choice. For  southwest to keep a portion of the money i can understand that. Expenses. but to keep all the money That IS BLACKMAIL. i Bought a TICKET. That's all i did. are you telling me i am the only one that is asking for a refund? southwest is not making money, you say and they will lose more in the future. I did not give  the right to southwest to keep my money. i did not sign anywhere, did not put my initials, or checked any box whatsoever none of that. i just bought a ticket. contract what contract. that is blackmail. a contract is when to parties agree and sign on it and each  have a copy. southwest is keeping my money and all of those people who canceled their flights because of coronavirus. survey says, what survey of five people. as far as the chip tickets, southwest makes sure that there is profit to be made on those tickets to. coronavirus nobody wanted but is here. for southwest they see it as an opportunity to make money. i don't care what other airlines do. in case you want to mention how good southwest is comparing to other airlines.  ... Ok JACK. First of all i don't think you work for Southwest. It seems that you have given them a bunch of money flying around the country, that they let you answer peoples complains. You and other comedians.You said nothing to me.You don't stay with the conversation. I don't Care what other airlines do. i Did Business or tryed to do with Southwest. The trip was canceled because of the pandemic and i don't think i was the only one canceling a trip.Southwest and other airlines are in business to make money, i understand that. But some times in order for the business to thrive they have to look in the mirror and do the right think. your one sided contract with the customer (You Break it You Buy it.) Jack I did not Break Anything. i Work hard and long for that money And after 40 years of marriage and no vacations we decided to do so. But Southwest has other plans for my money. Let me Ask you JACK. What Happens if  i don't wanna travel for the next 5 years. do i lose my money all together or will southwest will give back my money with interest. because they do make money on my money. Some people so it happens for different reasons takes them years to get on an airplane and some never do. i did not give southwest permission to keep my money for me. That's what banks are for. This about RIGHT or WRONG . SOUTHWEST IS WRONG PERIOD. That was a trip we were gonna take, after long and hard savings. i did not cancel that trip because of some reason other than the stupid coronavirus and in case you don't care (i believe you don't care) let me remind you Thousands of People lost their lives.
