I just heard on the news that effecive Dec. 1 Southwest will start selling the middle seats on all flights. They say this is based on scientific evidence. I would like to see the evidence. I am a registered nurse. I have seen the devastation COVID-19 has brought to the world. Experts (CDC, former FDA Director, Dr. Fauci) all say this winter is going to be especially difficult for the U.S. Then, add influenza season to it! It is beyond belief for me that Southwest is changing their policy during a pandemic when the number of cases are to be at an all-time high and have distancing not being an option on flights. Well, I'll be looking for another carrier, if Southwest begins selling the middle seats. I understand the airlines have taken a financial hit and need to have full airplanes. However, the flying public will not tolerate no opportunity for distancing, will find another air carrier who will offer what is best for the flying public, or not fly at all. Please reconsider, Southwest!
