As long as you’ve been honest about it during the application process and your position doesn’t require a valid license, I’d guess that you’ll be alright. They will show up obviously, but they probably won’t disqualify you. If you’ve lied about it at some point during the process, then that’s a completely different matter

I am just a few days away from starting my career on the ramp at IND for Southwest. For those of you that have already started, what can I expect for the first day? And how about the first week?

During one of my interviews for a position I wasn’t offered, my recruiter explained the process to me. He said that after the initial qualifications are reviewed, candidates are contacted in the order that their applications were received. He also said that they only work on 10 at a time so if you’re the 11th application but they fill the position in the first 10 interviews, you won’t hear anything from them. But in that case, your dashboard would say under review and then eventually be changed to closed or something like that. Yours saying processing could be a good sign, but you should also check your email, making sure to check the spam/junk folder also. Search for emails containing WNCO.

When doing the city codes, do you have to just know the city or the name of the airport? Also, is it like AUS is _________ (Austin, TX) or is it multiple choice or what?

I’ve never looked for apartments in the Dallas area, or anywhere in Texas for that matter, I’ve noticed though that apartments in many cities don’t answer their phones. So I do searches on apartment listing websites, then see if the apartments have a Facebook page and, if they do, I reach out to them on there and explain my situation and what I’m looking for and ask for the best way to contact them other than a physical visit to the complex. The vast majority of the time, they’ve replied back with a phone number and that number, they do answer or will at least return a call if they can’t answer for some reason.

I accepted my CJO on 5-17-22 and got my start date today, 6-13-22 so it was less than a month for me to actually get my start date. I’ve lived in the same town for 40 years though and only had 2 employers over the last 10 years so that definitely helps speed up the background check.

Thanks. I just was worried about maybe missing an email and not doing something that needed to be done.

Hey all! I received my start date today of 7-25-22 for ramp at IND. I thought the email I got prior to that though said that I would have to do the USPS background check before I’d receive a start date since tamp agents handle mail. I haven’t received anything about that though. Is that something that comes closer to start date or is that not a thing at all stations?

First of all, being a flight attendant isn’t easy. It can be rewarding with excellent perks, but not easy.
Then, even though the training is unpaid, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t cost the company anything to train you so they will hire those ppl that the feel have the very best chance to complete the training and work for the company, which completing the training does mean that you work for the company.
Finally, you sound a bit entitled like you feel you should automatically get hired just because you applied and the business world doesn’t work that way. Then you play the race card which doesn’t help. As for looks, it absolutely could be about your looks, but I mean that as in how you appeared for the interview. Even if it was a virtual interview, you should appear the same as you would for a face to face in person interview.

I don’t have a lot of dates to report yet, but can contribute something towards the end of this post.
5/10-Applied for Ramp at IND
5/10-Received email to submit questionairre
5/12-Received invite for virtual interview
5/17-Interview on Microsoft Teams (11am)
5/17-Received call offering me position (4pm)
5/17-Submitted background check info
5/17-Uploaded Vaccination Card
5/19-Received email to update DL info (I put the date I got it instead of the expiration date on accident)
That’s all I’ve done so far, but I was told that assuming everything comes back, I will most likely start in mid to late June.
For those of you having trouble uploading your vaccination card, the system doesn’t accept certain file types. It doesn’t accept jpegs and something else. Basically, you can just take a picture of it and try to upload it because it doesn’t work. If you have an iPhone, go to the notes app, start a new note, click on the camera icon that should be along the bottom of the screen, and choose “Scan Document.” When you scan it, it will become a pdf file and you can then upload it on your profile for Southwest. I think Android phones have a similar option, but I don’t have an android so I can’t say how to get there on an android.
