So Susan, it would be okay to take a friend or family member away from you and put them in a building that has 5 rooms in it. in this building with no furniture , entertainment or any real stimulation at all is a few strangers. Some speak their language and some don't. Some like them, some don't. They eat the same meal day after day after they are asked to perform tricks day after day on the house keepers schedule. Over the years this friend or family member starts getting bored and chewing on the bars between these rooms. they crack their teeth which are then drilled out and flushed everyday by the house keepers. With lack of exercise their back begins to hunch over. They form a friendship , but that person soon dies of a mosquito bite. They try to join other clicks in the house but are often beat up because they can't escape. They get pregnant at a very young age and they are not sure why and what they should do because they can't talk to the Mom they were separated from years ago. They live in this house until they die at a very young age. How would you like that. Enjoy your next trip to Sea World where you will be able to go with who ever you want, eat what you want. See what you want and leave when you want. Think about it. REALLY think about it. Watch Blackfish and learn the truth. I have been an animal trainer at Sea World and now I have been rescuing sick, injured and abandoned marine mammals off the California coastline for over 16 years. I have seen both sides. It is not most of the trainers fault and not the animal care staffs fault. It is the greed of upper management and ownership that still thinks it's okay to use large intelligent animals for entertainment and profit. Hope this helps. Peace

Jon, where do I start. First off, this has NOTHING to do with the good Sea World does. That is not in question. If you have the guts to watch Blackfish, you will see what this is ALL about. Places like Sea World need to stop USING large intelligent animals for profit, PERIOD. These animals have been used for 50 plus years for entertainment. This unintentionally helped to raise awareness at first and we learned the little bit that we can from them in captivity. Now those days are over. Sea World and zoos and aquariums that use large beautiful, intelligent animals to make a profit are going to be a thing of the past unless they change their business model and evolve. I hope they do. I will then take a flight on Southwest and proudly go to Sea World in Orlando where i used to train animals for 7 years. Happy Birthday!
