I just read a biography of Art Linkletter, who passed away recently. He too hoboed across the country during the depression. It was an unimaginably hard time for all. But, adversity framed that generation and made them who they were. This country owes itself to adversity. I have faith in the good people of this country and I know they will rise to the occasion again.
I think of my dad every time I fly over the farms of Stockton and Modesto...

Last I checked, SWA had the second youngest fleet in the industry. I flew a plane two weeks ago that was on it's third day of service. This year we received over a dozen new aircraft. Next year we should receive a similar amount of new equipment and possibly some other newer 700 aircraft acquired on the open market.
