I fly into ISP a few times a year on SW. SW does a good job at ISP. The staff is very efficient at check in, TSA at ISP does a good job moving people through security (although it is not a crowded airport) and the CSA's at the gates tend to be more informative than at other SW stations. Bags tend to come out quickly at ISP. Good job SW at ISP.

Why doesn't SWA, LIST, the aircraft type on the website when you are making a reservation. When I book on other airline websites, I know exactaly the type of aircraft I am flying on - for example - when booking on Alaska, the information is given if the flight you choose will be in a 734, 737-7, 738, or a 739. You know this info BEFORE you finalize your travel plans. SWA should list if the plane for a flight is a 733, 735, or a 737-7. Frankly, I don't want to fly the 733's anymore - not because those most likely are the ones with the cracks, but because they are just plane (no pun intended) OLD ! Get rid of em! (and list the aircraft type on your website).

USS Blog Boy -
Please see the paragraph below, it clearly states I have been upgraded to A List status. Then the last line states to take advantage of my new status through may 8th. Maybe you and I have gotten different emails. If you got the same email, I would say, clearly, that someone in marketing communications needs a refresher in Marketing 101 because this email is not clear.
Southwest made a good thing toooo complicated. From my email I received:
Congratulations, weÃ

I have a question to all the people playing on this blog and want to see what they think. With the new "processes" in place, I recieved an email telling me the great news that I am now part of the "A-list" club and to log into my RR account to view the deatails. After logging in, the A-List portion of my account didn't match the information in the email I recieved telling me that I was part of the new "club". My RR info said I was not a member. When I called RR customer service somewhere in TX, I was told by the representative that "sorry" you aren't a member, yet I recieved an email saying I was (isn't an email a legal document?). The agent said there was nothing they could do about it except give me an address to write a letter.
I don't fly southwest that much anymore because I live in Miami now, but what really gets me is the fact that when you call SW for help, they can't help! For an airline that prides itself on customer service, I think they loose when it comes to getting help live on the phone from the service center. What does everyone else think about this situation with the new process where you get an email stating one thing, but your told "ha ha" - we're just kidding!

Since everyone else hems and haws about service to their respective airports, I am going to toss out a thought, that also has nothing to do with rice a roni - I am moving to MIA from LAX in two weeks. SW needs to come to MIA and institute a nonstop from MIA to ISP.
I don't want to drive to FLL for my flight to ISP.
There !! I said it !!

This past Saturday when I flew from Los Angeles to San Jose. The flight attendant gave me back my $3 towards the end of the flight that I had paid for my Bud Light - then she said "Happy St. Pattys Day".

Hello All - if one of you thinks LAS is bad, you should spend some time at LAX. My thoughts on LAX are in no way a reflection on SW, but if any of you have been in the SW LAX terminal you know what I mean. It is bad. For goodness sakes, this is Los Angeles. It is time for our city to upgrade all the terminals at our airport. Terminal1 needs to be redesigned architecturally to make it feel more open, even though I know the real estate can't grow. The SW terminal is dreary and the restrooms are unsanitary. Actually to me, they are repulsive. And I wish someone would get that bird out of terminal 1 that has been living/flying around in that terminal for years!! That bird almost pecked me on the head one day.

Hi There - I hope some of SWA Pilots and FAs see this and respond. I know you all overnight many many nites during the year and I am wondering two things based on the fact that SWA flies to many smaller served cities such as spokane, columbus, el paso, albany, and jackson, birmingham, etc.... do any of you mind overnighting in these smaller cities? Do you bid for trips where you o/n in smaller cities? If you don't and you happen to end up o/n'ing in these cities, what do you do for fun the you "clock out" ??

Jill,
I really liked your blog about "Conversations in the Air". I don't know about you or anyone else reading this string, but flying is like
the last sanctuary we have in our technologically stressed out world. I know when I leave the earth (for however long the flight is)
my cell phone is off and I can't turn it on. I seldom turn on my computer while flying. I don't worry about the stuff I can't resolve
while I am in the air. It is nice to sit on a plane and make small chit chat with others who you will probably never see again. I
don't sit there and execute a conversation that is long enough to be a movie script, but I do try to smile to my seatmates, be
courteous and if they give me the clue that conversation is ok, I will talk briefly with them. I fell like I have gotten a bit of
humanity back in our crazy world. Then I will doze off, read a book (gulp - does anybody do that anymore?), watch a movie on my
dvd player, listen to music etc... On a recent flight from LAX to BNA the flight was packed. The woman sitting next to me was
separated from her family. When I turned on my dvd player to watch a movie, she was trying to follow along. Noticing this, I
offered her the extra set of earphones I had so she could watch the movie with me. She was so grateful and we really didn't talk
much during the movie or flight but just doing something nice goes a long way. We need more respect and pleasantries for each
other when we fly - it makes for a much nicer experience.
I dig flying SW. They are great for short little hops from Los Angeles to cities like San Jose, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and
Phoenix. When I got my last award I flew from LAX to ISP (long island) The flight coming home was ISP to PHX (with a stop in
BWI) then a plane change in PHX. I thought going cross country on SW would be brutal but it really wasn't that bad (the booklet of
drink coupons helped alot - how cool are they!) Plus I saw the same theme plane (the maryland plane) twice that day - in ISP and
PHX and when I boarded my flight to LA from Phoenix I also had finally gotten to ride on a theme plane - New Mexico One. The
purpose of this part of my post is to say that unfortunately for the first time on that flight I had a FA that was miserable and viewed
every request of a passenger a chore. I caught her continually rolling her eyes to an off duty mechanic that was sitting across the
aisle from me. I wanted to tell her that if she was that unhappy (for whatever reason that day) she should conceal her
unhappiness. If the employees of SW convey a message that they are happy and pleasant, it will rub off on passengers who will
be happy in flight - they everyone is happy. How cool is that!
P.s - SW has the coldest BEER in the sky! Dear Southwest, please send me more drink coupons!
