I am so ashamed of my fellow coworkers that have blogged such negative views on this thread...whatever happened to your Warrior Spirit and your Fun-Luving Attitude? Looks like it has been traded in for Cowardly Spirit and Self-Righteous Attitude... Seems that everyone is so concerned with being objects of "desire" that they are missing the big picture. SWA teaming up with SI for this plane to coincide with the release of the swimsuit issue and having this aircraft arrive at LGA on the day our service there is announced is nothing short of brilliant! With all the carriers that serve LGA and have for years, what better way for us to become visible and known in a brand new market??? Imagine yourself in NYC...you see this plane fly in with a beautiful woman on the side...your eyes move up to the tail....SOUTHWEST.... what?? Southwest is coming to LGA?!?! I can't imagine a better first impression!
For those who continue to call SWA hypocritcal and compare this aircraft art with Kyla Ebbert...get real...this aircraft features a professional model in a bathing suit and the aforementioned Kyla boarded not just in a short skirt or skimpy outfit, but without undergarments showing her "bits" to the world... You might as well be comparing apples to oranges...c'mon folks...
Lastly, SWA is the best company in the world to work for...they treat their Employees great and are active in all communities doing charity work. Never in 12 years have I been treated with anything other than respect... I wouldn't trade a million dollars for my job and those who think they are working for such a "bad" company...move aside and go work for one of the other airlines and see how happy you are there...there are thousands of folks out there who would kill to work for Southwest Airlines and would be LOYAL employees.

Cap'n Ray-
Great pictures! Like Liz, I wish more would do the running commentary. I always make a game of trying to guess what cities we are flying over... I was all excited on Friday flying from DAL to ABQ when I was able to pick out Clovis, NM as we were flying over!
Keep up the good work... our posts are always so informative and interesting!

Regarding the 3rd baggage charge. On southwest.com, please go to Travel Tools, Southwest Policies and then click on Baggage. The third bullet point advises the current free baggage allowance of 3 bags and the date that it will be changing to 2 bags as your free allowance (Jan. 29, 2008) and the additional costs incurred with bags over your allowance.
Have a great day!

Award tickets whether they are Standard Award tickets or Freedom Award tickets can be used either as a roundtrip or two one-ways....
Freedom Awards MOST DEFINITELY can be used as two one ways--- that has not changed.... the only difference is you have blackout dates using Freedom Awards but you ARE NOT hindered by the limited seating; if there is a seat available you can travel on a Freedom Award (the exception to this is traveling on ATA code share flights).
Hope that this helps!

You can check in online if you are traveling with a lap child... age verification is required if you purchase a seat for the baby....

I am so saddened to hear the negative comments that are being posted about the changes Southwest has made... They are just evolving in order to stay profitable.
Please also note.. seems that some things have been misconstrued... Award tickets can still be used as two one way tickets or a roundtrip, regardless if they are the "standard" awards or the "freedom" awards. Availibility for award travel is still the same, they have just given us an additional option (how many of us have kicked and screamed when the seats weren't available?)
Keep up the good work SWA... I'll continue to stand by you even through your growing pains!

Just addressing the mis-information about "premium" seats...
Though nsx@flyertalk gives good info mostly, the statement about..."Those choice front seats need to be sold at a premium price to business travelers; otherwise all of us will need to pay higher fares." is totally incorrect where Southwest Airlines is concerned. There is no business class.. even with the new boarding it is still OPEN seating... you may sit where ever you choose. The front seats are NOT reserved for Business travelers; just whoever sits there first.

Bill---
I think you should receive an honorary Heroes of the Heart Award when they make the presentation next week! It is wonderful employees like yourself that make me proud to work at the best airline in the world! I can't imagine any of the legacy carriers (or any others for that matter) sharing information as to "why?" something is as it is... for an airline who doesn't "care" about our Customers; the fact that you would share this info and take all this criticism and harsh words, yet still reply to concerns in a compassionate and caring manner is just awesome and speaks volumes. You most certainly possess a Servant's Heart.
I can certainly understand our Customer's frustration and guys, believe me, if they could've opened the schedule sooner the would've... the majority of Southwest Airlines employees take their jobs to heart and want nothing more than to make our Customers the happiest that they can be. We also share your frustration in the schedule issue--- I am a Reservation Sales Agent as well as a Customer Care Representative and wish I had a definitive answer when you call and ask when the schedule will be open. We strive to provide you the very best Customer Service imaginable and not being able to give you a concrete answer is a disappointment.
Have faith in Bill--- they are offering all kinds of overtime for Reservations tomorrow, so I just bet that you will have your schedule then-- and we will be more than happy to get your flight arrangements for the summer months taken care of !
Once again Bill-- you rock and I admire your courage and thick skin!!!!
