Thank you Bill for your post. My son is one of the 133 who lost his life in 2008. He was a sheriff and loved every minute of his job....my comment is that President Kennedy set aside May 15th as a day of commemoration for officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. This day is part of Police Week to recognize the work and sacrifices of the 700,000 federal, state and local law enforcement officers across this great nation. Every year since it was started, every President attended the May 15th memorial service, except that President Bush (43rd) missed one due to Presidential matters. President Obama chose not to attend or recognize any part of that week. The President did not send anyone to reresent him. I believe he was in town that day
SHAME ON YOU Mr President, as these courages men and women in uniform are the ones that protect you and your family along with the United States Citizens These sacrifices are all selfless and supreme.
