OK, I want to take a shot at this - I'm James' sister and I assure you he hasn't even told me he posted this blog yet! 1 - On average, how many calls does Reservations take on a given day? answered next to last because I had to figure out how many agents I thought there were, now... how busy do I think they are? If 150 people take a call every 5 minutes at 6 places - I'm guessing 75,000 across 6 call centers, I'm probably over on this one - more like 50k probably - DO I GET 2 Guesses??? 2 - How many calls do you think Reservations will take by the end of 2007? Based on my answer above, I'd have to guess around 18,250,000 - so instead I will guess 15 million 3 - How long do you think each telephone call lasts? 8 minutes - They have to look up the flight, make the reservation, take the money, give the confirmation or maybe a little less! 4 - How many Reservation Sales Agents do we have? I'm thinking 150 atleast on the phones at a time, then we have to count shifts, then we have to count by 6 locations - I'm guessing 2000 + 5 - We have six Reservation Centers. What cities are they located in? Albuquerque, Chicago, Houston, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, and San Antonio (OK - I CHEATED ON THIS ONE but only from previous answers). James collects everything Southwest! He and our sister, Kari, have been known to outbid eachother on ebay several times trying to catch something he doesn't have! The quilt is definately one of a kind and we knew how surprised he would be! Drew - The labor alone was HORRIFIC and then it cost us another 100.00 to have it quilted! But, I'm sure we could do it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Special Orders ONLY - HA HA! Kim, I actually do get asked that often! You should try to meet James; it becomes all the more clear... Ha Ha! Just kidding Bro! We are fortunate enough and unfortunate enough that we are only 11 months apart! Talk about night and day, salt and pepper, oil and water?!?!?! When he says potato, I usually come back with spinach instead of tomato! We debate most everything and I personally would be shocked if we found anything in common! As James' sister and having been allowed to visit the Headquarters in Dallas a few years ago, I was nothing but impressed with the pride SWA takes in making their employees feel like family. As we walked through different areas, everyone knew everyone and were very much interested in who we were and how we were. The decor was comfortable, not stuffy, the people were warm, and the atmosphere was nothing short of wonderful! This was one of few Christmas' James didn't work and was able to be here for the nieces and nephew, Santa, family, etc. However, on the years he has missed, someone has always made him welcome in their home regardless of what city and state he was in, he has always called and had a wonderful meal, he has even volunteered to work on those days in the past. OK, my Nana just called and told me I had to come look at these pictures! Unfair, since I NEVER GET TO FLY!!!!!!! I keep asking to FLY ANYWHERE but so far, MY WONDERFUL BROTHER WHOM I LOVE and ADORE nor his bosses who I am SURE READ THIS have offered! But, in checking out the pics and cheating and reading previous answers since I am not a flight attendant and I will say I agree with the following: #1 A jetway mirror because it looks so compact and many would say a makeup mirror! Good one bro if I do say so myself! #2 I will agree with the speaker ABOVE the cabins and the oxygen masks beside! Woo Hoo - What do we get if we get all 3 right??? #3 I think you are all wrong and will consider that also a correct answer! Andrew, my brother has worked for SWA for over 10 years in several different capacities though none have been as pilot. The main thing I want to tell you about your quest to become a SWA Pilot is that they are bar none the best airline in the world. As many families experience, we have been through many trials and tribulations throughout his ten year; ranging from sicknesses, surgeries, deaths, births, diseases, you name it. SWA and its employees have always supported my brother and the rest of us through prayer, gifts, cards, thoughts, phone calls, food, etc. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty in every instance and have always put family first. They are his family and our family as we are theirs also. Also, always remember YOU CAN DO ANYTHING you set your mind to. James - WOW! I remember the days of running as fast I could to get away from having my hair pulled and now you are inspiring the younger generation!
