Why were you able to admit to Kevin Smith that he was removed because he was the last passenger seated and not because of his size, yet still imply that he's too fat to fly? He passed your test. Armrests were down, and his belt was buckled without an extender. Is it really that hard to admit that you just blew it on this one?
And once again, the masses play blame the victim. He passed the test to sit in one seat, yet everyone yells at him to lose weight. You are probably the same people who tell rape victims that they had it coming, too. Don't you see it's the same thing?
Yes, we should all strive to be a healthy size. That doesn't negate the responsibility of companies to treat their customers with respect and to maintain their dignity.
I thank Kevin Smith for bringing this to national attention. He speaks for thousands of people who've been humiliated but didn't have his platform.
This goes beyond weight. This is about customer service. This is about how we treat fellow human beings. Do we really need to belittle everyone around us to feel good about ourselves?
