Either sign your REAL name or quit your crying. You won't put your real name why? In my opinion, the Westjet deal will take NO SWA jobs. SWA would not go to Canada on its own, at least for a long time. If anything, there is a chance it may create a couple of SWA jobs in cities where the flights are operating from. I think it is a great deal for both companies. The only thing that even comes close to upsetting me is the fact this codeshare keeps getting pushed back.

Bill - I know that SWA will not fly a market that is not going to be profitable, and for that you are very smart, but some missing links seem odd to me. 1) DTW-LAS This route had SAT only service for a while but it disappeared and never returned. This is 1 of only 7 airports not served nonstop from LAS. Is SWA afraid of NWA, c'mon, I triple dog dare you to add DTW-LAS. I asked for FLL-LAS a while back and I am getting that in a few weeks, so how about it? Okay, PLEASE!! 2) SLC-SAN SWA had 2 or 3 roundtrips just after the Morris merger and I thoroughly believe there is enough trafiic to warrant at least 1 nonstop a day in this market.

I didn't even know the first 2 were SWA until the end. I think they are stupid. I was watching the HAWAI'I debacle with about 15 other people, and onlt 1, yes 1, thought it was funny, but after the SWA logo appears. Bad move in my opinion.

I also hit 15 in September. CONGRATS!!! I even forgot my anniversary until my Sup called in me to give me my pin and watch. WOW! Time flies when you are having fun. When we got hired you were either a late 19 or a very early 20 and now they are in the mid 85. It has been a great ride so far and I look forward to another 15!

My most extreme and heart-felt condolences go out to all that knew Charles, family and friends. I did not know of Charles except through this website, but tears roll as I write this to see such a promising man meet such a tragic ending. I will say a prayer for all. I just don't understand. I am a SWA fan, but how does letting your inventory run down to 91 days benefit SWA. SWA loses customers who can't wait to find out if the schedule or fare will be there for them in June/July and talk about all of the interest that could be made off of all those reservations sitting in the bank. I have a family cruise in June with family coming from 4 different cities. Coordinating arrival and departure times can't wait in the hopes that the schedule may be there or not, as well as the fare. So yesterday, $5987 of reservations went to UA and AA. SWA is my airline of choice on most occasions, but not this time.

Bill - I got a chance to meet you and Lee back in '97, and we talked like "scheduling geeks", and it was fun. Your whole department does an awesome job!! 1060 West Addison is the home of one Elwood Blues! A co-worker and I have a running "feud" about whether I am from Chicago or the burbs. He had a CHI address and I had a burb address, but I only lived 3 miles farther away from Grant Park then he. People from CHITOWN are the best and are very easy to get along with.
