The policy should be changed to remove the ability of Southwest employees to be subjective on this matter. If you can sit, put the arm rests down, buckle your belt without an extender and your midsection is not spilling over the arm rests (arms & elbows shouldn't be a factor - or the parents of the unruly 10 year old sitting next to me should have to buy two seats because their child can't sit still)... you should be able to fly.
If you can fit employees shouldn't be able to exercise their "judgement" on whether or not your a "person of size".
