7 Loves
I work for Southwest Airlines in Reservations. In September of this year, my grandson was born prematurely and passed away on his second day of life. Southwest Airlines provided tickets for some of my family to come to the funeral of their nephew. I am grateful for the expressions of sympathy from leaders and co-workers that I have received and for the generosity of Southwest Airlines to help family to be present to support loved ones in their time of grief.
Years ago, before I joined the Southwest "family" my 17 year old son passed away from leukemia. Even though attending a funeral is not a joyous occation, spending time with family and loved ones is something to celebrate. (I have always thought weddings and funerals are the best time for family reunions.)
We have just celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday, now we are looking forward to the Christmas season. I hope with this season of giving, good will, and love that we all will remember that life is short. Whether you live to be 101 years or have the brief life of just hours, family and friends are priceless gifts to be treasured. I hope we all can cherish the many gifts that can be given during this special holiday and throughout the coming years!
