I understand EarlyBird check-in payments are not refundable, even if the ticket is refundable. Because of this policy, I am hesitant to pay for EarlyBird unless I am absolutely certain I will travel. Given that Southwest is the industry leader in customer friendly fees, why does this policy exist and could Southwest please reconsider the policy.

It looks like your pulling back on Philly big time with these permanent route discontinuations.
You entered the market with great fanfare. Can you truthfully tell us what wrong? You compete very well with USAirways in the Las Vegas and Phoenix markets. What happened in Philly?

The Rapid Rewards program consistently ranked highest in the industry because of its simplicity. You have now made it one of the most complicated in the industry. Additionally, you have penalized short haul flyers, the backbone of your business which helped turn a start-up intrastate carrier into the largest domestic airline in the United States. Additionally, as a senior citizen, I get the same number of points as a passenger who buys a heavily discounted advance purchase fare, even though I pay considerable more. Wall Street also knows you made a mistake as your stock continues to decline, including my shares. Swallow hard and admit you made a mistake and return to the program we loved and helped made your airline great.

Thanks for the apology...yes, all teams slump, including Team Kelly.
Why not offer some form of compensation to your loyal passengers? Perhaps, a boat load of points, a companion ticket, or an off-peak free ticket. Words are nice to fix the damage to the brand, but tangible compensation would speed the healing process.

President-elect Obama is a real fan of Midway Airport. While Chicago's business elite prefers O'Hare, people on tight budgets flock to Midway with its low-fare carriers led by Southwest.
I did have a lump in my throat, when I saw an Air Force 757 ferry him from Midway to Andrews Air Force Base outside of Washington when he officially moved from his South Side home to the District. On his return trip to Midway, that same Air Force 757 will be known as Air Force 01. Good going Southwest for breathing life back into Midway (slated to become a shopping center) and for President-elect Obama for truly understanding the benefits of using this hassle-free gem of an airport.

Much thanks for additing two early morning IAD-MDW departures at 6:30 am and 7:30 am. This will make it earier for DC-area travelers to arrive in Chicago time for both very early and mid-morning meetings.
Also, with United and American abandoning coveted DCA slots, isn't time for WN to step up to plate and fill the DCA-MDW void left from the collapse of ATA.
