The biggest problem with this rule is that it's discretionary. If we knew before hand what to expect, we could be better prepared to deal with this.
While I would like to think the crew was trying to make the best decision, Kevin took several photos of himself sitting in the seat just fine.
Can we get an estimated weight or BMI? Maybe a waist size? Any type of guideline? I can't imagine any other industry getting away with denying service after the customer has already paid based on an arbitrary ruling from a flustered flight attendent.
