Meghan--I couldn't agree more with you! I also love that everyone can be together in San Antonio thanks to Southwest Airlines. Growing up with three sisters, we pretty much did the same thing you guys did. If you insert where you have play touch football and you've described the Waldrep Family Thanksgiving!
After dinner, we'd design hair styles for each other and Dad loved for us to comb his hair while he watched football. We'll still "play hair" these days, but nobody will comb poor Dad's hair. It's okay, he usually falls asleep and we say we did it while he was asleep. Ah... the holidays!

Mike, can I have your autograph?
The talent that we have among our Employee ranks continuously impresses me. No longer do you need to look toward American Idol, Nashville Star, America's Top Model, or Dancing With The Stars to see talented folks making it big. We have comedians, opera singers, guitarists, rock and rollers, and our own Guitar Hero as our CEO! I haven't gotten over the rock concert we heard at this year's Dallas Message to the Field when--just today--I received video of a Flight Attendant rapper entertaining our Customers during their flight. (No extra fee for the entertainment either!)
Talent scouts everywhere just need to look within Southwest Airlines and get to know your next Flight Attendant, Ramp Agent, Customer Service Agent, or Support Rep. You just may be talking to the next big thing!

Christi--
Can we start a support group? If only to discuss our legacy stories? When I was kid, I remember receiving a brown and orange stuffed plane that was really soft. I named him Burt (I didn't know he already had a name, TJ LUV.) Burt has been with me over 20 years, through high school, college, and my adult life. Now, Burt sits on my desk here at Southwest Airlines (albeit a little deflated.) My Uncle Jon, and Aunt Sandy (both long-time Employees of Southwest Airlines) gave me Burt, and Burt eventually brought me to Southwest Airlines. I love Burt... almost as much as Uncle Jon and Aunt Sandy! 🙂 Now, can someone help me convince my baby sister (23 years old) to interview to be a Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant?

YEAH--IT'S MESSAGE TIME! It's truly one of my favorite events we have at Southwest Airlines and just shows again that the Company puts their People first. It's nice to attend such events and see folks from different cities who all share the common pride of being Southwest Airlines Employees. I hope every Employee gets the chance to attend at least one a year. GO GARY!!

Brian,
Your blogs have me FOCL (that is, "Falling off my chair laughing). FWIW (for what its worth) I feel telegraphese is coming back! JMO (just my opinion).
BTW: Kids these days live on text messages, so to reach the younger Southwest Airlines Customers, my suggestion is to send a text message stating: "Peeps Fly 4 Cheap!" RU C-ing a pattern in the communication of the future? Less is more! TAFN (That's all for now!)
LYL (Love you lots),
Lacey
P.S.: NRN (no response necessary!)

I agree with you Jill... and I, too, need my music to "go the distance." I'm traveling to Sacramento THIS WEEKEND to compete in the Sacramento Cowtown Marathon. I'll have a sassy mix of Black-eyed Peas, Def Leopard, Britney Spears, Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Buffet, U2, Collective Soul, Jessica Simpson, Pat Green, and Martina McBride. I have a very braod taste in music, but what really matters is getting that PERFECT song at the perfect time... like when you're ready to quit at mile 22 but know you've worked too hard to give up now, then suddenly "Let's Get Rocked" from Def Leopard starts playing. POW you're headed to the finish line and not looking back... I'll be flying SWA (of course)... do you think they'll let me play my song list Inflight to pump me up for the race?
