So I have a question. What is the standard time for a credit card transaction to show up on my credit card statement? I took a flight back on Jan. 9th and bought a Monster. It just showed up on my statement on Jan. 29th. Is 3 weeks the norm? I thought the company was buying me a free drink for being so loyal to Southwest. Haha
And one more question not pertaining to this topic. Do I still receive double dollars for using my Chase Southwest Visa Card for booking a cruise through the Southwest site? I figured for the plug I gave you on your credit card, you could at least answer that for me. Thanks.

I wonder who is going to be the first to mention candy corn?
I would think Cup o Noodles would be a good choice. While not exactly healthy due to all the salt, it certainly got me through my freshman year of college at San Diego State.

Paco,
You forgot flight 387's brother, OAK-SNA-PHX-BWI-ISP coming in at just over 9 hours.
Before the schedule change, flight 398 used to operate OAK-SAN-AUS-MCO-ISP. That was a 10+ hour flight. Left OAK at 0615 and arrived in ISP at 1935 (all times local).

Drew, there was a couple incidents recently. One girl was denied boarding from EWR to HNL this past week for having a coughing fit.
And last month, a family was denied boarding on a FL-NY run I believe. I don't recall the specifics on this event.
I know neither of these involve Southwest but these two jumped right out at me.

Laurie,
Some people like myself are aviation geeks. We like to know useless trivia like where the plane is headed from, how full the flight is, where the crew is based, what the registration is of the plane we are flying. It may seem weird to you but the "geeks" like to know about airline ops.

Blog Boy,
I have a question. Why hasn't the "Star of the Month" or "Colleen's Corner" been updated since October 2006?
I would always go check that out at the beginning of the month but it hasn't been touched. Did you guys do away with the program or is someone slacking? If you want to take over that duty, I'll bribe you with candy corn.

People who ignore the fasten seatbelt sign and get up to go to the bathroom anyways. On a recent flight from SAN-OAK, after passing thru 10,000 feet, TWO people felt they were superior to the seatbelt sign and got up anyways. The FA's had to tell them to seat down.

Jeff,
I think you are confusing "autoland" with "autopilot." Automatic Pilot controls such thingss as heading, altitude, and speed.
Autoland does what it says. Lands the plane without input from the pilots. Pretty much all commercial aircrafts have autopilot installed. The pilots might keep the autopilot on until the last 50 feet or so when they reach the decision height, which is the point where if the pilot has the runway surface/lights in sight, he can continue and land. If he does not have them in sight, he must preform a go-around.

Well then, that is a problem. I named 2 of the 3 on flight 1590 on friday (SAN-OAK) and only one on 2186 (OAK-SAN). I don't want them feeling left out.

That's a nice thing that Southwest did. I was on a flight last night that was delayed an hour due to an aircraft swap. It's not a big deal. I'm not looking for compensation.
I have a question though. After I get done typing up my compliment letter today and send it off, do all those involved get to see the letter or find out that someone had something nice to say about them?

You ought to email Tommy Blog and let him know it is rather easy to fly LAX-ISP with 1 single connection in LAS. I don't know the flight number for LAX-LAS (and too lazy to look it up) but Flight 1470 is the first scheduled LAS-ISP flight of the day. I took that flight last month from SAN and it worked out fine. From the time I got off the plane until I reached the outside curb was about 90 seconds. That doesn't happen at many other airports.

Yeah, you really can't beat $79 one way tickets from San Diego to Dallas (not that I really want to leave SD). I have a good friend who lives in Dallas so I may just be spending some extra time at his house from now on. I don't mind having to make a 25 mins stop in ELP or ABQ when I get low fares and great customer service with WN.

I enjoy reading this blog. I check it everyday while I'm at work. I'd love to see some "day in the life" stories from everyone (pilots, FA's, CSR, Ramp Rats, Scheduling). I think it would just be great to get a behind the scenes look at daily SWA operations.

I had the same question as up above regarding not seeing flights to/from DAL after November 26th. I checked out schedules an airfares to fly SAN-DAL on Nov. 3rd-6th. You really can't beat $220 roundtrip. So I booked that already, but I wanted to book another flight to DAL for December but couldn't do it. But don't worry Southwest, I'll be back to book it as soon as the schedule opens up.
