Marco,
I look forward to reading your post. I heard today you had some unexpected flyover visitors while you were at sea. That must have been interesting.

I would like to thank Leah, Kim, Francisco for their frequent post.
We also should thank Gary Kelly and Bill Owens for covering those hot topics such as assigned seating or when will the schedule change.
Also a nod out to the always informative entrys by Ray Stark, James Malone, Susie Boersma and Bert Stevens.
Of course we must thank Jill for her jokes and Mary for her funny posts and all the other people who make this blog interesting.
Which would mean a thank you also to Kyla Ebbert, who I thought made for very interesting reading.
Brian, I am sure you gave a much better acceptance speech. But I guess I just felt the need to write one.

I remember those quick trips to McDonalds. It was always interesting to see the little difference in service that you got from country to country.

I heard a question recently "Why did the terrorist kill 3000 people that day"? The answer was because they couldn't kill 30,000. It is very sobering indeed to realize how true that is they just wanted to kill as many americans as they could. Simply because we hold different beliefs.

To all the people who think Kyla Ebbert was wronged. You are so easily manipulated by the media.
For those who believe the person who spoke to her had to be ugly or overweight. How ignorant that you think those people are out to attack the beautiful people of the world.

I agree with Carl, go as Dog the Bounty Hunter. Maybe you can convince Colleen to dress as Beth, his lovely well endowed wife.

My children when they were younger would entertain themselves with items out of the seatback pocket. The bag would be colored to become a hand puppet. We would do a treasure hunt, to find the most expensive item, the lowest price item, the strangest item. My youngest daughter would pull out the emergency card and ask "Who comes to get us when we land on the water?" I always hoped their was no passenger who was afraid of flying when my three year old was quizzing me.

Brian, when they closed the center we referred to that as having our cheese shredded. Shredded cheese is a good thing, it gives you growth and challenges that you would not have had if left to your own plans.

My very first flight after being hired was my wanna get away moment. I was taking my four kids to the back of the plane. My son saw the seats facing each other and wanted to sit in them. I explained we were going to the back so he sees them again over the wing. As I tell him no we can't sit here he turns and see the word PULL and he does opening the emergency exit. The flight took a delay and as I was sitting in my seats trying to be invisible I got an invitation to speak with the pilot.

Greg,
If you click on book travel you can select to depart from Dulles arrive Chicago return to San diego in one reservation. The return San Diego back to Dulles would have to be booked in a 2nd reservation. Since most markets have one way pricing you should be able to get the best price this way.

Kim, Sorry to hear about the job situation. I am sure SWA could use you. I would guess you would be a great fit in marketing or maybe James could mentor you in the fine art of passing out peanuts and making safety annoucements. Whatever you do, I hope you find a job that makes you happy.

Funny thing about librarys they always want you to commit to returning their books by a certain date. As a born procrastinator , I have to buy the book.
My daughter reads a book and it is in pristine condition. When I read a book, I will eat with it, sleep with it so when I buy a book I prefer buying it used because when I done with it is very well used. After all books should be enjoyed.

To be stuck on an airplane for hours is horrible but to be asked to pay for the food you eat during that time period is insane. Which I understand American did. Where is the common sense in that. I am glad I work for a company that lets me make decision that is the best for the passengers and in the long run the company.
Francisco, I agree with you. Not only is David Letterman not funny he is just rude to his guest.

J Doe, I am sorry you're stuck in an airport on your first valentines day. I hope you take the time to write your wife a loving email, which I am sure she would appreciate. I am missing lunch with my son so I could come to work and assist passengers who are stuck in airports. BTW I was scheduled off. So I know it is not fun but we are doing all we can to assist each passenger. So once again when weather strikes, all we can do is apologize and hope the next time you travel it works out better.

I believe Capt. Starks was talking about a particular non stop flight that SWA operates between Providence and Phoenix. His point being flying is still a cost effective way to travel. The global warming issue is another discussion for another web site in my opinion.

The Boise State game was awesome. I was at the game and it had to be the hardest game to watch for a Boise fan, or Oklahoma fan. We have followed Boise for years so we were very happy at the end. My thought leaving the stadium and watching all those charter buses pull out was, "Oh I would love to be on the charter flight back to Boise tonight". So my questions to all those FA's out there How fun or difficult are charters to work?

Doug, The res agents who read this blog will do a better job. Before all we had was the ability to see when the schedule opened in previous years. Now that Bill has educated us. I am sure our answer on the matter will change to reflect the 180/120 info.

Francisco, Airline 'A' publishes their schedule a year in advance. You know you will be coming back from deployment 9 months from now. So you book your reservation with Airline 'A'. While you our underway, the airlines changes the flight scheduling (COSTING them money in additional programming hours) that will change your departure time by several hours. So an representative from Airline 'A' needs to contact you. Costing them money in customer service
Their could be other cost to making changes that I am not aware of but, those were the two that I could think of. Of course, also the inconvenience to the you the passenger who made need to make other arrangements because you're leaving 6 to 12 hours later.Hope this makes it a little clearer for you.

Gordon, you could go the recliner route, if so I suggest the Al Bundy look.
When I passed 40 I chose to prove that I was not old and decrepit (my children response was "Your not old mom") by hiking the Grand Canyon. Now the question, can I continue these long hikes or is it truly all downhill from here?

Bill, What a great time for this post. For all us who are looking for something to make this year better than the last. What could be better than a new attitude towards our fellow man. To be reminded, that we can make a difference in the lives that we touch each day. So lets strive to do that for the strangers that we meet each day and for the people close to us, who we all to often take for granted.
