My husband and I both like to fly South West. However like the lady with the small dog, I wish very much that South West would allow small animals in the cabin. I have a small African Grey parrot and would fly much more often rather than drive, if I could take him with me on the plane. Other than asking for a peanut and an occasional, hello, no or why, he is a very quiet bird. He would easily fit in his carrier under a seat. He is used to being around other animals as long as he is in his cage, he doesn't bother about them.
In traveling by car the only problem has been other people's curiosity about him. Being very tired and hungry one evening I slipped him in a large purse and into the back of a MacDonald's restaurant. No one but the children in the restaurant knew he was there.
Please reconsider your pet rules. We really enjoy your flights.
