Way to go, Southwest. Rather than admit you were wrong, you tried to spin this. The first few comments bear witness that the underlying theme of this posting is that it was a "too fat to fit" issue rather than "Our team screwed up in an attempt to get the plane off the ground quickly."
Didn't your parents teach you that real apologies don't include the word, "but ..."
It's a shame you can't just be truthful about this incident because, if handled appropriately, the policy is good overall.
