OK, F9 board does not approve sale to WN and FAPA says no way to WN. F9 is now purchased by Republic, fine no problem, WN will just go out and kill the Republically owned F9 in the market place. Bryan Bedford is smart and if F9 becomes a toxic asset because it can not compete and WN is beating them down, he will dump F9 as fast as he wanted to save it. And just how long will he save it, even if things remain status quo with WN in Denver and other F9 markets, what is Bedfords end game? With Midwest, Frontier and three regionial airlines he need economies of scale, and needs to reward those employees who have been with him longest, especially as regional airlines begin to park more and more 50 seat aircraft in the desert and he has a glut of pilots that work cheap and will continue to work cheap if they want to continue to fly. Long Story short F9 has a choice, Accept WN offer (and at least have a chance to work for the stongest airline around that pays good wages) or take your chances with Republic which has made a lot of moves lately, to win a game where only Bedford know what winning looks like. ...
