Kids are a great comic relief, My mom was going to take my nephew shopping with her ,when he was 2 yrs old, to look for a new light for the living room. She asked him, What kind of light should we get? He replied " A bright one! "

L2K there is a lot to do in getting a flt ready for takeoff, one is you have to know how much wieght is on board so you know how much fuel you need. By boarding passengers at the last minute you add wieght, and if the fuel truck has left, now you have to call it back to add more fuel, and wait, now the flights late. And if you add the fuel ahead of time and you do not add passengers, you use more fuel to fly the added wieght of the fuel you did not need, which adds cost to company which they in turn pass to the passengers in higher fares. So to help keep cost down they don't change without a charge. Although 1 or 2 people won't hurt, 5 or more will make a difference. Thats only one reason to not move people. not enough room to explain the others.

Reading your blog brings back memories of my leaving port when I was in the Coast Guard. Smaller ship, but the same feeling, And less time at sea. 2 weeks each month except once a year for 30 days. My father was 20 years Airforce, sister 4 yrs Navy, myself 4 yrs Coast Guard, and my nephew is in the Navy at this time. Best wishes to your and your shipmates!!!!!!!

It's A shame they have to pass a bill to make companies give GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!! IT shows what the companies really care about, MONEY. sure money is important, But like SWA says take care of your passengers and you won't have to worry about the money it will take care of itself.

Speaking of bad airports, Kansas city, MCI, I think thats the one when they redid thier security after 911, they put thier bathrooms outside the check point. All of them. My dad told me about them when he flew thru there a little while back. HOPE YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO REAL BAD BETWEEN FLIGHTS!!!!!!!!

I had a nice bumby flight from STL to OMA . There were scattered thunderstorms around OMA, One bump we took felt like we dropped a couple of hundred feet real fast. My arms came off my lap, it looked like my drink came out of the glass and back into it. Noone was ready for the bumps to be that bad because it was a smooth ride over half way to OMA. One of those you say, GOOD MORNING ARE YOU AWAKE NOW!!!

I had a new 700 from Oklahoma to St Louis, the flight and landing was so smooth that I fell asleep during the flight and did not wake up until the Captain went to stop the plane in St Louis. One of the best flights I ever had.

I wonder if the Wright amendment was not repealed by SWA ,if the states themselves , like MO did and NE was trying to do, would have repealed it faster than 8 years?
