Maybe you guys should try what we do here @ Albuquerque Reservations. Twice a year we have a weight contest. Everyone kicks in a fee ($35 here) and gets weighed in. Six months later we weigh in again and the winner (who has the biggest percentage of weight loss) takes the pot, usually $1,000.00 with the rest split between 2nd & 3rd place or even 4th & 5th, depending on how many people signed up. We've been doing this for about 2 yrs, now and it's a big favorite among Our Folks, with about 30 to 50 Agents participating. We also have measured walk lanes in our parking lot. Four times around equals one mile. Agents are out there during break & after lunch all times of the year. I guess the $$ is a big incentive. Anyway, have fun & good luck!!

Why not give it a proper burial in the ground? Please use a shovel and not a ladle or some other kitchen implement...

To Berri & the Kitowski Family - I did not have the pleasure of personally knowing Charles, but, as part of the Southwest Family, I was moved to tears by his passing and the emotional overflow of Love he has received. I feel compelled to write this & share my experience with whomever wishes to listen.
As a young boy, I experienced what is known as an N.D.E. (near death experience). I sincerely believe this was actually a Death experience, that I actually died, and for whatever purpose, came back to life, maybe for the very reason of sharing this experience here & now. All I can say is that when it happened, there was no physical feeling of pain, fright, or emotion. I experienced only calm and peacefulness that is basically beyond words, similar to perhaps "floating on a cloud" and looking down and seeing all that was transpiring at the time in this physical world. It actually was the most beautiful experience I have ever had, which eventually left me with no fear of death and with the certain knowledge that this was not an ending but a true beginning of something more beautiful, mystical and etherial, than I have ever known. Truly there is life after death and Charles, who sacrificed his earthly existence for so selfless a purpose as to bring freedom & peace to others, is experiencing this as we speak.
I remember seeing Medieval religious paintings of the great masters where angels are pictured as cherubs floating on painted clouds, sometimes just as a child's head with wings but without a body. I think the symbolism portrayed within was probably a mystical experience similar to the N.D.E. and the artists were trying to convey the everlasting spirit or soul within, that each one of us possesses that never dies, and is beyond pain, suffering, and eventually, death. Please rest assured that Charles IS in a better place and he IS still aware of you and your love for him, and that Our Creator is letting things unfold as they should. May He help you trough this time of grief & sorrow with Love & Blessings until you all can be reunited again. Charles & all of you are in my prayers.

Speaking of Zen, I'd like to impart some of my own wisdom (?): Renee Descartes, famous French philosopher, said in Latin : "Cogito ergo sum", which transllated means "I think, therfore I am". However my interpretation is: "I think, therefore I THINK I am". Don't Zen Masters say it's all an illusion anyway?
Kim, good luck on your job search. Remember, when one door closes, another one opens........

Speaking of Albuquerque, aside from green (or red) chile, I've been all around the country, and I think the best B B Q is at The Quarters. Their sauce is amazing! There's one near the ABQ Sunport on Yale Blvd, about 1/2 mile north of the airport exit, one in the NE heights on Wyoming & Montgomery, and one on the West side, State Road 528 , near the Cottonwood Mall. Try it, you'll like it..... Yes, the Owl Cafe does have great green chile (greasy)cheeseburgers and real ice cream shakes & malts! I think I need a fix....

Hi Brian! The Dodgers were also the team of my childhood. Growing up in Brooklyn, my older brother attended Brooklyn Preparatory High School, which was just a stone's throw from the ball park, and we would often meet after classes to watch the Boys play at Ebbett's Field. Also, an older cousin worked for Gil Hodges, who owned a state of the art (at that time) bowling alley on Ralph Avenue, the dividing line between Flatbush & Canarsie. We would often "hang out" at the lanes, since it was within walking distance of our house, and we could chat with Gil, one of our hometown heroes. Our whole family was devestated when we lost our Home Team. My thanks to my Dad, who is also gone now, for turning me on to the greatest team ever. Ahh, the fond, vivid memories of days gone by.... Thanks!

So, a Shriner walks into a bar. The bartender says "Hey, why the long fez?"
OR:
An elderly Greek man walks into a Tailor Shop run by another Greek man and shows him a pair of pants and asks: "Eumenides?". The tailor answers : "Why, Euripides?".
I guess the answer to both is "Yes".
