I'm not necessarily a fan of assigned seating, and I actually rarely get anything but an A boarding pass. My only complaint is the lines that form at the gate that block the access and forces people to start standing long before boarding begins. I was in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago, and the line extneded out into the walking area outside of the gate, and nearly blocked the entire passageway. If assigned seating would help solve the queuing issue, I'm all for it. If ther e is some other way to do it and still keep the open seating policy in tact, that would be the best of both worlds.
