Bill,
First off, I'm very sorry for your loss. It sounds like your Mom lived life to it's very fullest and didn't let anything keep her from enjoying it. She was blessed with two wonderful sons.
Thanks for sharing such a touching story. The day you lost your Mom marked the 5th anniversary of my Grandma's passing. To this date I still miss my dear Lolly, she was more than just a Grandma, but my best friend as well. I grew up a troubled child, to which my parents found so hard to accept and adjust to, but Lolly was always there for me and understood me and stood by me until her very end. We shared many special moments and dreams together that only two special people could share.
I do not work for Southwest, but do work for Southwest Vacations in Orlando and must say I am truly blessed to work hand in hand with such wonderful people at "The Mark Travel Corporation", as well as our partners at Southwest Airlines. As you mentioned, very few companies give their employees as much as they take from them.
I hope Christmas brings your blood family and Southwest family even closer together as we gather to share our love and memories and celebrate the birth of our Saviour.
Thanks again for sharing your story, it brought tears to my eyes and a little skip in my heartbeat, but it made me take a long look at Lolly's picture on my desk and brought a big smile to my face.

Good God ~ can our society think of anything else to complain about?
Just a piece of advice to all the people out there that have nothing better to complain about these days, everyone on the plane will get from point "A" to point "B" at the same time. Each and every seat is leather and comfortable, the same 3 friendly flight attendants will be serving you, whether you're in row 1 or row 24, window, middle or aisle.
Let's be honest, when getting on the road to drive from here to there, do you get to choose what lane you will travel in at all times? The speed you will be able to travel and what vehicles you will travel behind and/or in front of?? Which traffic lights will be green when you approach them rather than red? NO, you just go with the flow and take it as it comes, sooner or later you get to where you want to be.
So please, sit back and relax and enjoy the great Southwest hospitality and the free ammenities that most other airlines are now charging for.

Again a perfect reason why Southwest Airlines is #1 is Customer Satisfaction year after year!
It's not just one employee here and there, but the whole 38,000+ dedicated luving and caring people who make up Southwest Airlines.
I'll trade an assigned seat and first class for compassion and LUV anyday!

What most people don't realize is that although many airlines will book up to 11 months in advance, when doing so I can guarantee you will receive a half a dozen phone calls from them advising of a "Schedule Change". By the time your travel date comes around, you are leaving hours later/earlier, changing planes in two cities rather than one or, on another airline period!
Southwest will put out it's flights a few months at a time, and in almost all circumstances you will be flying on the date, flight and time you booked in the beginning!
Way to go SWA, this is why you are #1 in Customer Satisfaction year after year and in my heart and eyes as well!
