Shame on the media, though it doesn't shock me that they are so irresponsible as to bring up something that's over a year old. Not only did Southwest found out about the missing inspection area, they notified the FAA immediately and then promptly reinspected all possible affected aircraft. This is not the act of an irresponsible company. I say let their accident record speak for itself - 14.85 million flights as of Dec. of '07 - 0 fatal accidents.
I'd say the credibility goes to Southwest Airlines and NOT the media!!
