I'm 6'3" and got to sit in these seats the other day. They're comfortable for me .I'm sure they'll be comfortable for anyone shorter than I am as well. 🙂

Southwest shouldn't have to apologize for the policy. Its in place for safety...EVERYBODY'S SAFETY. I've been that skinny person in the middle seat between two large people...its NOT FUN and it NOT safe.
If you buy a seat, it should be YOUR SEAT. I'm so sorry, but what right does YOUR ample butt have to MY seat? If you KNOW you spill over into multiple seats you need to BUY MULTIPLE SEATS!!!
Southwest, you apologized for the situation not being handled as tactfully as it should have been. Bravo. Learn a lesson. Let's all move on.

The look on our customer's faces when they saw this was one of sheer delight and amazement. Only at SWA would you see something this cool! 😉

Looks like the SWA winglet colors and the rainbow match! Prophetic? Maybe. Here's to an even better 2010!

Proud to be a SWA employee (flight attendant) and proud that we're doing so well in one of my former hometowns!

I have said nothing but Frontier is a failed airline..twice now...and we here at WN will gladly welcome the employees that are hired here with open arms. We can even learn some tricks from F9. Nothing bad about that. Keep chewing on those sour grapes...

BTW, I have an incredible amount of respect for the people and employees of Frontier Airlines. I have always respected their reputation in the industry and admired the livery...there really is nothing cooler than big block letters in titanium and animals on the tail...quite a statement.
But about Frontier being better than SWA? That's a matter of opinion. My first and only experience on Frontier was non-revving from DEN-PDX and let me tell you...the flight attendants were NOT friendly with each other and that very apparent in the cabin. One made a comment about the other taking long in the lavatory in the back when they were ready to do their announcements (something I'd never say over the PA about anyone) and then the other slammed the lavatory door so loud I could hear it in row 3. That wouldn't be cool at SWA because it would denigrate someone and we know better than to show conflict in front of passengers.
Those are the kind of people I hope don't get folded into SWA. I'll be glad to fly with the ones with a good attitude. There are bad apples at every company, including here. So, bring on the bright, shiny apples.

You're just having sour grapes, period. Frontier wasn't successful. Southwest is. Its not nice, its business. I'm sorry you can't face that reality. As for my me and my peers? Most of us feel that those Frontier employees that are hired will be a positive addition to our company as long as they have the right attitude and want to be here. They'll be welcomed with open arms.
Chew on those grapes and try to be a better loser.

@ Traveler: If all it took for Frontier to have to declare bankruptcy was Frontier having a CC processor get panicky and withhold funds then Frontier already had bigger problems i.e. not enough cash on hand. It was already a matter of time. It only matters that they DID go into bankruptcy and they ARE for sale and Southwest will hopefully be able to swoop in and provide jobs to those that qualify and have the right attitude to work here.

Well since my own company is censoring my posts on here I'll just shut up and wish the rest of the Frontier employees GOOD LUCK since they're gonna need it.

@xjflightattendant:
This Southwest flight attendant hopes that all Frontier employees would get hired here at WN and we could be in a happy, perfect family.
Unfortunately, the reality is that this will not happen.
Southwest is very picky about who we hire. Its easier to get into an Ivy-league college than SWA.
The Interview Team at the People Department is very good at weeding out people and the 4-week training class further weeds out people. That followed by a 6-month "evaluation period" continues with the selection of only the best to remain at Southwest.
I was one of about 40 in my interview group. Three of us were selected to attend training. One was let go during training for inappropriate behavior and two of us graduated. The other graduate quit within the first week when she realized the job wasn't for her after all.
Here I am, in my fifth year going strong. I am one of the lucky, the blessed, the proud to be here at Southwest Airlines.
My wish? Everyone from F9 will be hired at SWA. Hey, I could definitely use the seniority!
Reality?: Many won't make it due to poor attitude or they leave of their own accord. I know its not cool, but that's just the way it is. At least Southwest will give them a fair chance to try!

Yes, this is the current Frontier's FIRST time in bankruptcy but it was started by ex 1st-Frontier employees. That's my point...this is the SECOND time Frontier has been in bankruptcy. It proves a second time that Frontier doesn't work as it is. If the employees that had started Frontier had learned any lessons from the first go-around with bankruptcy, they didn't put them into practive apparently well enough to ensure avoiding bankruptcy a second time.

@Joey H....Frontier was in bankruptcy...for the SECOND TIME. That is a failed airline! SWA is not!!!
RAH probably would have messed up F9 the same way that they are currently messing up Midwest Airlines. At least with SWA there will most likely be a DEN base and the employees will have a chance at a job with a company with a stellar reputation and has never been in bankruptcy. If you can't see that, you're blinded by pride.

To all of you out there "scared" to fly Southwest...I have been a Southwest flight attendant for over four years now. Any time there has EVER been a maintenance issues the mechanics are waiting at the jetway when we pull up to fix whatever needs to be fixed. If it is not fixable and unsafe for that plane to fly, we don't go with that plane. Period. So stop worrying so much and come on board...because trust me, if its not safe, I am not going to be on that airplane!

I personally have NO problem with women in swimsuits but as an employee of SWA I am very embarrassed about this. Yes, you can see the SI issue at the grocery store and women in bikinis at the beach...but parents have the CHOICE to avoid those locations during the times that swimsuit issue is out and avoid going to the beach. Now, what if you're at the airport and this plane rolls up to the gate and your kids are plastered-eyed to the window staring. Is SWA going to offer re-accommodation on the next flight for free if you don't want to fly on this airplane? After the whole Kyla debacle this makes our company look hypocritical and as soon as I heard we were doing this I just rolled my eyes and thought "What are the comments on the Blog going to be?". I was right...mostly in the negative.
I PRAY I do not work on this aircraft any time during its wrapped in that decal.
