OK, where's the commentary from CJ and Deborah?!?!?
What was it like? How were the dates? What one thing do you remember most? ;-)
While we're waiting for the "tell all" book about SWA's early days, this'll have to do.
GREAT find and post!

Bill,
Why can't I book Christmas 2014!?!?! ;-)
(You knew it was coming)
Great job communicating the changes and thanks for the charts. I've have some excited STL folks of late, and I'm sure BNA will appreciate the LUV ;-)
Merry Christmas, my friend, and thanks for the early present.

MY GOODNESS!!
Glad to know that "innocent until proven guilty" is still the law of the land.
Even the DMN reported that SOUTHWEST found an area was lacking and corrected it, with help from Boeing, and SELF REPORTING to the FAA.
How you get "cut corners" from that isn't in my version of reality.

Just a thought gang.
When I travel, and shop, shop, shop, I Fed Ex my presents home. This way I don't have to lug them into the rental car, on the shuttle bus, through the airport, check or carry them on, port them onto the parking shuttle......you get the point. They're DELIVERED to my door!!
US Mail would work the same, and if you bought beach towels, or other fluffy stuff, you have the packing material with you. Small investment in a UPS store or other packing service, and you're home free.
My goal is always to not need a vacation, from my vacation, when I get home.
My .02.

Dear Bill,
Thanks for continuing to be PERSONALLY responsible for all of the evil happenings at Southwest Airlines. Have you used all six of your free Clear Skies calls???
PEOPLE!!!!! Please feel free to write letters to SWA, expressing your concerns, but take it easy on my friend Bill. He, and his co-workers in Schedule Planning, used the optimization computer to help make the Company more profitable, which benefits EVERYONE. I'd guess they took existing passenger data, marketing data, and cost analysis, to write a schedule that still served our Customers (exactly ONE city pair lost, ELP-MAF, direct/connecting remains for all others), while allowing the Company to continue to make money, which is the goal of ANY business.
BTW, Bill's department doesn't control the boarding procedures for our aircraft AND Gary didn't say we were assigning seats. Speculation is fine, but angry posts based on assumption are out of line.
Nice job, Bill. Thanks for continuing to surprise in new and fun ways.

Nice job, Schedule Planning!!!! Especially considering the online speculation on start dates, yesterday's announcement proves we can still keep a secret (DARN!!)

Mer. So glad to work for a Company that gets to hear such good stories. Here's one for you:
A friend was travelling to Orlando, with his elderly mother. The trip down was great, and the return was going well, until a de-icing truck hit the wing of his aircraft, in Cleveland. The crew did a great job of keeping everyone informed, another flight was found for the leg to Chicago, and he thought, "well, not perfect, but not so bad".
Less than a week later, SWA send him two large travel vouchers, with a note of apology for their 'inconvenience'. Getting a sincere apology and gift for a situation you thought was 'no big deal'?? Priceless!!
He's now a Raving SWA Fan (and I'm pretty proud of us, too.)

"a cantankerous genius" indeed. Board meetings are going to be a little boring, without Lamar to drop in. ;-)
Godspeed, Lamar.
