I've flown with a surfboard a few times. My bag was 7 feet long, and I packed two boards in it. They charged me $75 each way, as expected. Make sure to check your airline’s specific policies before you go.

It is not a crazy question. Fortunately it does not happen to me often but when it does, I just repeatedly flex my feet up and down and tighten/relax my thigh muscles. It probably shakes the entire row and annoys the person next to me but I cannot come up with any other options. I apologize to my seat neighbor if I get stern looks, and most people handle it well. I wish I had better suggestions....

My boss just went there with his family thinking that their credit card would cover their CDW (Collision Damage Waiver). The card does, but the rental location refused to allow it and charged. them $200. They were too tired to sit and argue.
