Some people with autoimmune diseases need preboard for reason you can see. I have a daughter that needs to sit in front seat if possable because of her autoimmune disease. My son needs to be close to the bathrooms because of his autoimmune disease. They both would rather not have their disorders. A flight can be very unconfortable for people with some autoimmune diseases. Be grateful you don't have to deal with what they do,which includes dirty looks from people wondering why they get preboard.

I was flying home, to San Diego , after a Easter visit with my son and family. I was with my daughter and her 22 month old son. She became sick the morning of our flight home and we couldn't change our flight without paying $85 a flight. So, we made our flight even after a trip to the ER that morning. At check in they saw she was not well and they were so helpfull and gave us pre-board pass. When we boarded the plane they were so helpfull seeing she was ill and had a toddler with her. It really helped the hour and 20 minute flight tolerable. Thank you!
