As a flight attendant and 7 yr employee with SWA, I've been reading all the negative comments in regards to EBCI. I understand that hesitation and resentment towards any change, especially when it comes to money in this trying economy. When I heard about this I was fearful of all the backlash that would come (and it has...) With the start of the EBCI, it states that you are not guaranteed an "A" boarding card. It just allows you the opportunity to not have to wait, set alarms for teh 24 hour mark.
I also understand the problem of saving seats, if you have to equate saving seats to "I got the A17 boarding pass, and my wife received C36...we allow alot of leeway in regards to saving that sit next to you. However, with that being said, keep in mind that when you bad mouth a marketing idea to increase revenue, whether it is with an airline, retail store, car dealer or whatever...allow us/them the opportunity to try it out.
I look forward to seeing each and everyone of you, even the anonymous posters, on my next flight. I will, as will ALL my friends and coworkers, give it our best to make your flight an enjoyable one.
