Funny, I think of MRO as meaning "Maintenance , Repair, and Overhaul" - I think that's standard for the industry. Here are a couple more that I've seen used at other airlines: CSR - Customer Service Rep DB - Denied Boarding

Not sure where to put this ... but I got an anwser on your 800 number that floored me this morning! "We have no tech support to call when there is a system problem" The problem is yesterday, while signed on to my RR account, I booked two flights that never showed up on my future itinerary ... I gave it 24 hours since I was told bookings were heavy. They were still not there this morning, so I cancelled the two flights and rebooked one ... still nothing shows up on my future itinerary. Anyone else having this problem? I'm sure that there must be someone at SWA that would be interested in hearing about this problem? I'm back to paper tracking my flights ... I'm going to be sooo confused! 🙂

p.s. yes, I was logged on properly, because one flight I booked in June showed up on my intinerary, but the July flights did not.

MCO-PVD Fan, I am so sorry that you have had a problem with your future itineraries and with getting that problem resolved. We do have support folks, they just aren't called "Tech Support." Our Reservations Agent should have referred you to our Customer Relations (CR) folks at phone (214) 792-4223; or fax (214) 792-5099. CR can resolve issues like this, and I encourage you to give them a shout. Incidentally, we are working on a system to receive inbound e-mails from Customers, but I don't have an exact timeframe for you. Brian

Brian, Thanks for your quick response ... I just knew that there was someone out there to help! 🙂 So "TS" = "CR" ... I came to the right place to get my answer!

Another p.s. I'll give myself one wet noodle whipping ... because if I had gone down one more level in the "contact us" page, I would have seen the "CR" number.

would someone please tell me what is the Acronyms for: BLOG - DING - Thanks
Not applicable
Sherry - BLOG = Boring Long-winded Old Geezers )posting over and over again) or Brilliant Legendary Outstanding Guys (or Gals) DING - Downloadable INternet Great deals.
Not applicable
Jim, To whom are you referring with your description of BLOG? Actually Sherry, it is a contaction of weB log or Blog. As for DING!, for years our commercials have always ended with the ding of the chime on the aircraft when the seatbelt sign is turned off. Then the announcer says, "You are now free to move about the country." When we opened our Philadelphia Station, we started a campaing there that ties in with the Liberty Bell "dinging." Since that ding sound is so identified with Southwest, we named the desktop widget, DING! Here are a few more: WAM=Weather Advisory Message OTS=Out of Service And one from my days at Delta: MT=empty

Looking back to working with a precious airline, and making sentences with them things could sound complicated. A good one that we would use in Line Avionics that the Foremans never caught on to (and I hope one does not read this)... Well is: IFE - Already covered as "Inflight Entertainment" PSU - Thing some may have mentioned "Passenger Service Unit" This is the device that you control the reading lights, call button, O2 Mask if you need it :) VTP - Video Tape Player. Now for the sentence to the foreman. Encoded: "We are going to test the IFE system with the VTP and the PSU's on aircraft (tail number)" Decoded: "We are going to watch a movie on Airplane (tail number)" Alot of people in the airline world do not really get to see the Mechanics having fun. Most of the time when people see us on the plane, we are working and all business... Little do you know what happens when there is free time 🙂 and I am not going to expose any "Maintenance" Secrets here... 🙂
