Beginning May 4, Southwest Airlines will unveil a new onboard coffee experience two years in the making. Introducing LIFT, a dark-roasted 100% Arabica blend of South and Central American coffees.
It's amazing a company would actually release PR for bringing in another coffee to replace what was really horrible coffee served onboard for many years. Even combined with the powder creamy and sweetner, SWA coffee was so bad that I always get airport coffee before get onboard. Finally, they are entering the 21st century of better onboard coffee like most of its competitors.
Paul,
According to Mother Parkers' web site, they are one of the largest importers of Fair Trade coffee beans in North America. For more information on their environmental and social responsibility programs check their web site: http://www.mother-parkers.com/bottomsections/Making_a_Difference_frame.htm
Great idea! Most airlines have terrible coffee, so this is a step in the right direction. Maybe the other carriers will take note (but then they will probably charge a fee for better coffee).
Yay! Thanks! Now let's see if something can be done about the powdered creamer. I know for a fact that Land 'o Lakes makes aseptic individual creamers that don't need to be refrigerated if that's an issue.
Looking forward to trying it on my flight to LAS this Wednesday. I'll give you my feedback then. But I'm excited about this improvement. Thanks Southwest!
My seatback and tray are in the upright position, and I'm ready to go!
I had the 6:30am flight out of New Orleans Monday morning after a weekend at Jazz Fest. I needed coffee in the worst way. Even though I would have been happy with any coffee that morning, I was bowled over by the new coffee. It is excellent. And the real creamer was an extra bonus. Southwest to be a step above the rest!
I caught an early flight yesterday, and was greeted with a properly sized (it is bigger now) coffee with REAL CREAMER.
Thanks Southwest for catering to the business traveler.
Yep, I tried it, and it was bigger and better, and a much-appreciated improvement on the old stuff. Thank you Southwest!
My seatback and tray are in the upright position, and I'm ready to go!
I have tasted coffee from all over the world and this is without reservation the best I have ever tasted. Rivals even the liquid coffee served in the finest restaurants.
congrats to swa. this is the best coffee. i love it. now i have coffee on every flight. it is wonderful. i wish i could purchase it for my office and home. GREAT COFFEE
Hey - I had SWA coffee on an early morning flight a week ago and couldn't believe the taste! It was great!
I skipped Starbucks on the second leg and went for another cup of SWA! Thanks!
Now, where can I buy some for home? HINT HINT!!!:)
I recently took a flight on Southwest and asked for a cup of coffee for my beverage.
I was expecting a not so good cup of coffee, instead I had one of the best tasting cups of coffee ever! What a pleasant surprise! Please inform me as to where I can purchase this coffee to have at home, as I have NEVER been able to enjoy a cup w/o going out to get one!
Thank you,
Valerie
I just flew SWA. When asked if I would like something to drink, I requested coffee. Oh my gosh. It was definitely the best coffed I have ever had during a flight. I even stopped the flight attendant to ask what kind it was, she told me the name of the coffee was LIFT. SWA has always been a great airline to fly with, but they just keep striving to make it better and better. You are all doing a great job. Thank you. And were can I get this coffee for use at home?
This coffee is unbelievably good! I have been searching online to find out where I can buy it. Southwest woud make a fortune selling 1 lb bags to interested flyers.
I love the new "Lift"!!!!!! Please tell me where I can buy it. Southwest should sell it on their site. (Oh, and let the powdered creamer alone..........some of us like it!!!!!
