Southwest to Launch Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. & Bozeman, Mont. Service

Quick! Picture your ideal vacation: Are you luxuriating on the white sand of a Florida beach or whitewater rafting down the Gallatin River? Are you floating across shimmering Gulf waters or hiking through Montana mountains? It’s a tough choice but thankfully, starting this summer, you’ll be able to do both: Southwest Airlines will launch Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. (VPS) service on May 6, 2021, and Bozeman, Mont. (BZN) service on May 27, 2021. Both destinations are currently available for purchase on; if you want to grab tickets, don’t worry—this blog post will be here when you get back!

  • Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. will be Southwest’s eleventh destination option in the state of Florida. Located on the Emerald Coast between Pensacola and Panama City, Destin/Ft. Walton Beach service will provide enhanced access and convenience for anyone headed to Florida’s pristine northern beaches. When you arrive keep an eye out for planes at the Eglin Air Force Base, which shares runways with the commercial airport. Beginning on May 6, three Nashville departures, one Baltimore/Washington (BWI) flight, and one Dallas (Love Field) flight will connect Destin/Ft. Walton Beach to the network each day. Once-daily Chicago (Midway) service will begin on June 6, 2021. Book now on!

  • Bozeman, Mont. is Southwest’s first destination in Montana, making Big Sky Country our forty-third state. Known as the gateway to Yellowstone National Park, Bozeman will be especially popular for anyone excited about exploring the great outdoors this summer. If you’re not headed to the park straight away, check out the Museum of the Rockies where you can explore the largest collection of dinosaur remains in the country. Double-daily Denver and Las Vegas flights will serve Bozeman starting on May 27, 2021, with Denver service increasing to four-daily on June 6, 2021. Book now on!
