We’re often asked if Campus Reach Interns are ever hired for full-time employment after their internship. Our answer: we love hiring interns! The Campus Reach Program has built a talent acquisition pipeline here at Southwest, so you will see many of our former Interns roaming the hallways now as full-time Southwest Employees.
Harold Page interned on the Communications & Outreach: Emergency Response Team (Summer 2014), and the People: Leadership Development Team (Spring 2015), and is now a Market Strategy Analyst Yield in Revenue Management. Read on for more.
Year/semester of internship: Summer 2014 and spring 2015
Department/Team interned for:
- Communications: Emergency Response
- People: Leadership Development
Department/Team and current job title: Revenue Management: Market Strategy Analyst Yield
Years at Southwest: 1.5 years (full-time)
Favorite Southwest city: Chicago
Most memorable Southwest moment/event: During my first internship at Southwest, my department volunteered with an organization that arranges birthday parties for kids in lower income families. The event went great, but I was most impressed that a company so large would take time out of the day to serve in its communities.
First ever job: Lifeguard
Proudest Southwest moment: My favorite thing about my current job is that we play a major role in shaping revenue performance for the company. Essentially, we attempt to get the right passenger in the right seat at the right price. In one of my markets, I recommended to Network Planning we add capacity for October. With subsequent thorough analysis, the decision to add capacity in this market was made. After October was flown, I was able to present my post analysis work to leadership and talk on how I was able to play a role in the positive performance of this market.

Reasons other people should intern at Southwest:
I did three internships before interning with Southwest, and I can honestly say Southwest was my favorite. The internship program is stellar, but the People and the Culture make it phenomenal. It’s amazing to be in an environment where so many people are rooting for you to succeed; not to mention, being able to jet around the country is pretty cool too!
