When I go to change flight and it shows me my options, some choices show "+" and some "-" next to the flights. I was assuming "-" meant it would be that much less points (resulting in a refund of those points). Is that true or is it the opposite?
i.e. One flight says -904
Another flights says +3002
I hope I didn't just cost myself -904 pts for the same exact flight when I thought I would be getting a refund.

A negative sign means that the flight is that many points less than when you booked it with points. A plus sign means that the flight is that many points more.
If you change your flight (booked with points) to one that has less points, you will be refunded those points immediately once you reconcile the flight. This should be obvious as you go through the flight reconciliation and complete the transaction. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for your balance to adjust once you are finished.

You did just cost yourself -904 points. Much preferred to costing 904 points. 😃
