Is there an echo in here? 🤦🏼 This literally makes zero sense.
How many drinks can you easily get on a SWA plane? One. (Short flights, one visit from the FA, and a small tray). It takes work to get more.
How many drinks can you easily get in an airport bar? As many as you want.
But drinking in the airport is somehow better than drinking in the plane. Whatever.

He can only go with you if he’s 12. If he looks young and says he’s12, he might be able to slide.
Just get him precheck.

Never mind that those “free” drinks were “paid for” by those of us flying quite a bit. It literally costs you nothing. Not to mention that it’s not your job to judge what’s “too much” alcohol anyways. And what exactly is helped by drinking at the airport???
Nonsensical.

Yeah that’s lame. I just noticed my settings were turned to “do not send me coupons”. Silly that I could turn them back on if they don’t plan on sending my coupons.
As you said, there are ways around it. I’m no longer going to offer the ticket unless they ask for it. If they want to play sneaky, so can I.

So SWA has this policy where I have to go to extra lengths to book a ticket for my 17yo daughter in order to list myself as a point of contact. What is this for?
Because last month they delayed her flight from 8pm until midnight…and then canceled it completely…and I was not contacted.
So they leave a minor in another city without any special consideration, despite me jumping through hoops to buy the ticket and ASSURE them there’s an adult to be contacted.
To make things worse, I never even received a refund for the canceled flight, and my support ticket has gone unanswered. I did not expect it to take weeks and multiple calls to get them to solve a simple problem.
AITA here? Or should I expect better service when they strand minors hundreds of miles from home?
I’ll call tomorrow and nag then again. I’m not going to be so polite this time.

Hadn't gotten wind of this yet...
https://viewfromthewing.com/passengers-admonished-to-stay-seated-until-its-their-rows-turn-to-deplane/
Is this now a thing? I noticed they do it in Mexico and it seems rather effective. Except for the gringos who don't understand and rush forward.
Of course, the fastest way would be "Don't block the aisle and wait until you have a gap if you need time to collect your gear". But that takes comment sense and common courtesy which unfortunately is uncommon.

I stocked up as well. But I haven't found any use for my promo CPs yet. I had the same thought about wondering what the prices will be when I finally find some place to go on the weekends.

Yep. Interesting.
While they’re fixing it…hopefully they’ll put in a way to automatically use them. I often times just open up the browser anyway so I can paste them into the app for a new ticket purchase.
Otherwise I have to take a screen shot off the website and then manually type them in.
Both are really a needless hassle.

Yeah, it's one way on Sunday. So I get full credit for today's flight.
So I can book my wife's last leg on Sunday morning and cancel the CP ticket once the first leg is completed.
Customer service confirmed this would be the way to do it.
They get $180 for me NOT completing a flight, since I have to pay for her to fly solo last minute. But I save almost as much or more skipping a flight tomorrow and possibly another flight in the future.
And time and gas money.

If indeed you are referring to a free companion pass, and your wife is using the companion pass, then I have some experience with this situation.
Last year my wife had a companion pass for me to travel with her, and each time we traveled, if I tried to board before her, they would stop me and ask to have my wife Check-In first. So if your wife is holding the companion pass then I doubt if she could board without you, based on my experiences.
Yeah, that would definitely fix it. I don't think I've ever worried about which one of us boarded first... Never gotten that warning
I guess given the late date, I can wait until the last minute and cancel my ticket and pay for hers with points. It's more expensive than booking a one way later on, but might save money in other ways... And obviously time.

Think through it pragmatically.
The one person can preboard and you accept that, right?
They have 9 family members, right? Any harm in that? No?
But you want 8 of them to board later? Why?
So you can sit in the middle of their family gathering? Doubtful.
So you can make them spread out through the plane and make a bunch of other people sit in the middle of their discussions? Odd.
Do you see my point? My answer to you is...why do you care? What actual harm or inconvenience do you get by their situation? Yes, it may seem like they are "breaking the rules", but I really don't see any actual skin off your nose.
On the contrary, be glad their boarding hassles are out of sight on the plane while you're still relaxing in the terminal. Personally, it bothers me more to see people misplacing their baggage and trying to shove oversized bags in the overhead bin. I'd rather let that cacophony happen out of my earshot and then slip right past them after they are in their seats.
Just another way to look at it...

Here's a wrinkle. I'm flying home on Sunday with my wife as CP and have a layover in my mom's city. As life would have it, it may now make sense for me to stay with my mom and drive her car back to my house.
So I'd be not getting on a flight where my wife would still be flying as my CP.
Would this work? Or would they cancel her out as well?

We’re moving some stuff to Mexico and want to take advantage of 6 free checked bags.
We are using boxes to maximize volume and allow us to discard them when we get there.
This one wouldn’t fit. It’s still within the 62 inch limit…inasmuch as one can measure a pillow.
Any issues with shipping it this way? Wrapped in plastic with a luggage tag slapped on the side?

You're probably seeing Get More,Pay More. Certain hotels offer the option to literally buy points on top of the points you receive for the hotel booking. The cost is close to the 1.6 cents per point.... so it's almost a net wash in terms of value.
But yes, it's useful for achieving CP. I've done it twice this year in Reno and Albuquerque. Vegas is the easiest place to find these offers.
I don't think they phrase it that way, but yes you can basically get the value of 20,000 x $0.016 = $320 sounds pretty good on $800.
If you want to cross-check, try Rocketmiles for the same thing and see what the extra cost looks like.
Pay more score more... Plus an optional boost after that...
2000 pts for $32...1.6. not a bad deal. A $59 flight only gets you about 300 points. Plus credit towards A List... And a flight of course.

Right. That's why I said it doesn't help with full flights.

Nor do we need to know about it. Hearsay on an extremely isolated incident? It doesn't affect us. We don't have any input for you.

This is a quite inefficient way to use points. 15,000 points will get you about a $220-250 flight, depending on the taxes you save. Plus you get free refundability... So it's like buying an Anytime fare.
Spend them on a $100 gift card and you're instantly out over 60% of your value... Plus you lose refundability except to the purchaser's travel funds.
The only reason to do this would be to get qualifying flight credit for the flight purchased, but that's a very high cost.
