Finding the full route of a connecting flight?

All the options on my planned route involve changing planes: either in Chicago, or Baltimore.

Any way of telling whether the 2nd leg will already have passengers onboard, or what the earlier stops are?

That's a great idea!

Yes, look up the flight number in Google or using one of the popular flight apps (flight aware, flightradar24, etc.) and it will show the flight number through its stops.

That will work for current flight numbers - verify that your future flight number is the same as the one today, they can change over time.

Then you can see if the flight number starts at either of the two connection cities you are considering.

Yeah, tried that on flightaware, but the routes must be changing between now and my travel plans, because it didn't show the correct stops.

Oh, well...
