Item lost on my flight #3258 from STL to OAK on 6/16/24, how do I get it back?

I lost something really important to me on the flight, and I filled out the lost and found form about an hour after landing when I got home, but does anyone know what happens if they can't find it in 30 days? I know where I might've left it, and I'm worried about how long it's gonna take to be returned to me, or if it will be at all. I've seen some posts and answers about lost items going to Alabama; is there a way for me to contact them, or is it just a process of waiting?

Typically it's just wait and see what happens. The airline deal with over 100,000 found items every year. It just does not have the capacity to provide personal service with those kinds of numbers.

Just make sure your lost item report includes every possible detail (serial number?) to help make it easier to identify your item.
